How Malaysian Payroll Works

EPF (Employees Provident Fund)

Employee: 11% (or 5.5% if opted). Employer: 12% (salary ≤ RM5,000) or 13% (above). No salary cap — applies to total wage.

SOCSO (PERKESO)

Category 1 for under-60 (Employment Injury + Invalidity). Category 2 for 60+ (Employment Injury only). Uses tier table, capped at RM6,000.

EIS & PCB

EIS: 0.2% from both employee and employer, capped at RM6,000. PCB: monthly income tax based on LHDN tax brackets after EPF relief.
